When will the crown prosecutor’s stop making plea deals in sex abuse cases against minors? | Sexual Abuse Network of Canada

We have been pushing for tougher laws against sex offenders with offences against minors and for tougher conditions upon their release, but time and time again we read about the crown prosecutors and the defence making plea deals with sentencing and conditions way below the minimum sentencing .

Todays headlines have been the most appalling we have seen this month and people should be outraged . Here is the headlines of the story and we will post the link on the bottom .

“TIMMINS, Ont. — An Ottawa man accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl and sexually interfering with her friend walked out of a Timmins courtroom a free man on Thursday after the court accepted a plea bargain meant to preserve his chances of becoming a Canadian citizen.”

Please take a minute and sign our petition to demand that Department Immigration and citizenship does not renew Niket Bhavsar work visa  that expires  Jan 9 2017  . Niket Bhavsar  plead guilty to common assault as part of the plea deal and a conditional sentence so that he would not have a record and will still qualify to apply for citizenship . Niket Bhavsar admitted to inviting the  two 15 year old girls and feeding them vodka and even admitted that he was worried about police but continued his actions anyways.   The article  in the paper tonight also reported that he was now managing another fast food pizza restaurant and we all know that fast food industry hires many students and youths and the percentages are much higher of customers at fast food restaurants are minors.

  1. This is the worst thing that happens to children, and you try to make sure that, they do not get enough TIME. This has to stop. I am 66yrs old and was assaulted, from the time I was 4, back then the Police did not care and the Government. I have suffered all my life, thinking this was the way of life, but always ask WHY ME. I have not been able to make it easy for my Partnerships. This will always be on my mind for the rest of my life. So we need more jail time for these predators they have to have stiff sentences Like 10 yrs and up. Stop trying to put these people back in society. Make them pay for the lives of our children. That they ruined.
